There are millions of people in the United States facing various challenges such as homelessness, poverty, unemployment, discrimination, abusive circumstances, and unstable living situations. Without proper resources and support, they may suffer severe and damaging consequences.
To address these challenges, The Carra House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides intervention and mentoring programs for at-risk teens, along with support for their families. We offer educational services for those seeking a high school diploma and vocational training for those preparing to enter the job market. Additionally, we provide skill-building tools and resources that foster confidence to help individuals regain their footing and lead fulfilling lives. Our goal is to create solutions today that ensure a brighter tomorrow.
Although not everyone will have the opportunity to complete their high school education in a traditional manner, the value of attaining a diploma is universally recognized. At Carra Academy, we understand that those without diplomas require a different approach to education. Our "Do A 180" program is an accelerated 180-day course of study designed to assist individuals in obtaining their high school diploma and turning their lives around.
Our teaching philosophy at Carra Academy differs from traditional methods. We believe that education combines academics, problem-solving skills, social interactions, values, and beliefs. As everyone has their unique learning style, we aim to provide an inclusive environment where all students can learn and thrive. Those without a high school diploma face a range of challenges, including limited job opportunities, higher incarceration rates, lower wages, homelessness, domestic violence, drug abuse, and illness. At Carra Academy, we act as a beacon of hope by offering an alternative path to a high school diploma. Today, we strive to be the solution for tomorrow's problems.
